Recently, I have been very busy and have to admit that I was not very good with updating my blog;-) In November I was exhibiting my drawings and collages in the Galley at St.Martin’s in Lincoln. My idea was to show what I have been doing for the last year- actually since January 2018 when I started to work from my studio (Bailgate Studio). After ten years of working just digitally I unpacked all my drawing and painting equipment and finally was able to be back to more traditional way of creating.
In July I run two first Acrylic Painting Workshops for beginners. I really enjoyed having this artistic mess in the studio;-) This were three hours workshops with focus on materials and techniques.
Please let me know if you are local and would like to join me for some classes in August and September.
It’s Summer – the perfect season for painting on t-shirts;-) We (me and my daughter) can’t stop! Our collection is growing every week. Now she is making me buying bigger t-shirts because she wants to paint tees for adults…so watch this space;-))))
Did you know that you can pop in to the studio for a drawing session?;-) We start with good coffee and then focus on drawing still life.
Every week we talk about different aspects important when you learn how to draw (knowing drawing materials, composition, line, tone, focus point, how to measure objects).
Beginners are welcome – please contact me if you are interested and would like to try it;-)
On the way to the studio I went to the local antique shop and found two old frames. I was thinking – let’s see how my little, funny drawings will look in these “grand” frames;-))) I just had to try it;-)
I would like to show you some ideas for card making workshop I am planning to run in February. I used hand painted backgrounds to create these colourful cards. As you can see I was keeping all designs very simple to show you how easily it can be done;-) but of course you can always do it much more complex;-)
I had few questions about dates for this workshop – I could do 3nd and 10th of February (let me know if you would prefer different dates). Would it be any good?;-) Please let me know if you would like to try this type of card making.
The price will be 25Pounds per person for 3 hours workshop, all materials (10 cards with envelopes per person) hot drink and cookies;-) included. You can bring bottle of wine;-)
The big news is that I have a new studio:-) My Bailgate Studio is located within the historic Bailgate, close to the centre of Uphill Cathedral Quarter in Lincoln (UK). Soon I will update a section Bailgate Studio (look in the main menu on the top of the page) with all informations about workshops and art classes I run. If you are in Lincoln and would like to join me for some creative sessions or looking for a place to celebrate birthdays or other special occasions in bespoke style, please send me a message. Please check my FB page for upcoming events: https://www.facebook.com/Bailgate-Studio-138936296803924/ I am more then happy to hear about your ideas for workshops or art classes. Please watch this space, soon I will add more info.
After years of working just digitally I again found a joy of simple hand drawing and now I can’t stop;-)
Today I have been working on a collage I have cut some time ago. I usually work fast but sometimes have no enough patience to finalise project;-) This one was waiting for weeks to be glued and framed…but now it is done;-)
